In Loving Memory of Tracy
Tracy came to Only Hope in the summer of 2004. She had been adopted by a woman when she was just a kitten. The woman moved in with her boyfriend, but when the relationship went sour, she left Tracy behind. Tracy lived as a single cat for three years. Then the boyfriend adopted Spencer to keep Tracy company, though she wasn't too keen on sharing her home. They managed to be civil to one another, though. About three years after THAT, they were both given up again - to Only Hope.
I wish I could say that Tracy was adopted into a wonderful home, but unfortunately she did not make it to that next step. Tracy was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroid disease. The details of her illness are not pleasant, but it did come up suddenly and without the usual symptoms. Tracy suffered a complication of hepatic lipidosis (feline fatty liver disease) with her hyperthyroidism, and she wasn't able to recover from it. Tracy passed away very early in the morning on Thanksgiving day, 11/24/2005.
Tracy was a wonderful little girl. She was a little chatterbox, talking to me all the time. She would hop in my lap, and even sometimes sits on my shoulders! She loved to be rubbed, scratched on the top of the head, and at the base of her tail. She gave me lots of head-butts and just loved to be near me in general. She had an absolutely gorgeous face, and a petite little frame. While I wish that she had been in a home as the only cat, as she wanted to be, I am glad that Tracy was with Only Hope when she died, because we know how much we loved her, and that she could not have been in a better rescue situation. Tracy was very much loved, and she will be very painfully missed by all of us in Only Hope.
